What skills we’re looking for in a RoR/React developer:

  • Ruby on Rails, 
  • Experience in designing, developing and implementing complex React applications,
  • Be familiar in design systems usage,
  • Automated testing with Cypress (other tools will also be considered),
  • Version control with Git,
  • AWS experience will be a big plus,
  • CI/CD experience – GitLab/Jenkins or another similar tool,
  • Experience in efficient database usage (MySQL), dealing with relational tables of billions of records.

What you will do:

  • All developers in our team participate in software architecture, implementation, maintenance, and test automation.
  • Some weeks, you will work on completely new features. Other times, you’ll optimize systems for performance, usability and scalability. Every millisecond that you save translates into thousands of dollars in infrastructure costs.

Our Hiring Process

You’ll have 3-4 interviews that take between 30 to 90 minutes each. You’ll be talking with our HR, the team leader and members of the team you’re interviewing for.

For some roles, we’ll also ask for an assignment. If this assignment requires significant time, we’ll pay for your time doing it.

In these interviews, we know that you’re interviewing us, like we’re interviewing you. We welcome your questions and will answer them gladly.

At OnTheGoSystems, we keep things simple and straightforward. In most cases, our interview process is made up of three parts:

1. The Chat with the Recruiter

60 mins

During this informal video call, we’ll tell you more about the job and OnTheGoSystems (OTGS), and you can ask us anything you want.

2. The Technical Deep Dive

60-90 mins

This video call has a technical focus and gives you the opportunity to speak to potential teammates and see how you can contribute to the team. You can expect detailed questions about your experience and qualifications, and you may be asked to do a live assignment, depending on the position.

3. The Check-In with the HR Manager

30 mins

During the quick video call with our HR Manager, we’ll ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding the position you’re applying for. You can ask questions and clarify any doubts you may have. We’ll also cover any administrative details necessary to extend a final offer that meets your needs and expectations.
