Technical Writer for Developer Documentation

We’re looking for a talented technical writer to join our team. Your mission is to create compelling technical documentation and UI texts that resonate with our target developer audience.

About You

You’re eager to delve into new material, ready to master our system to provide accurate, comprehensive documentation and explanations. Although our supportive team will assist you in settling in, your inherent motivation and dedication to learning quickly will be invaluable.

Requirements

You must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • You have at least 2 years of experience writing technical documentation for developers using frameworks and languages such as React, Vue, Swift, Java, etc. 
  • You have native-speaking English skills
  • You reside in Europe or a similar time zone (plus/minus 2 hours)

We also expect you to be:

  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • An exceptional researcher, learner, and communicator
  • Experienced with writing UI texts
  • Experienced working with companies that create tools for developers

How We Work

Our team stays in sync through regular online meetings, ensuring everyone is aligned with our short and long-term objectives. You will proactively stay updated on product developments, making you an integral part of the product design process. Your responsibilities will include creating the technical documentation and materials that introduce our product to the world. You will also be writing UX texts for the product’s interface.

Our Hiring Process

You’ll have 3-4 interviews that take between 30 to 90 minutes each. You’ll be talking with our HR, the team leader and members of the team you’re interviewing for.

For some roles, we’ll also ask for an assignment. If this assignment requires significant time, we’ll pay for your time doing it.

In these interviews, we know that you’re interviewing us, like we’re interviewing you. We welcome your questions and will answer them gladly.

At OnTheGoSystems, we keep things simple and straightforward. In most cases, our interview process is made up of three parts:

1. The Chat with the Recruiter

60 mins

During this informal video call, we’ll tell you more about the job and OnTheGoSystems (OTGS), and you can ask us anything you want.

2. The Technical Deep Dive

60-90 mins

This video call has a technical focus and gives you the opportunity to speak to potential teammates and see how you can contribute to the team. You can expect detailed questions about your experience and qualifications, and you may be asked to do a live assignment, depending on the position.

3. The Check-In with the HR Manager

30 mins

During the quick video call with our HR Manager, we’ll ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding the position you’re applying for. You can ask questions and clarify any doubts you may have. We’ll also cover any administrative details necessary to extend a final offer that meets your needs and expectations.
