A New Way to Translate Software and a More Accessible WPML – Q2 2025 Highlights

July 29, 2025

Great products come from solving real problems. This quarter, that belief took shape in PTC, our new software translation system built to eliminate the pain of localization. We also rolled out key updates to WPML, Toolset, and WooCommerce Multilingual.

Goodbye Localization Headaches. Hello, PTC

In June, we officially launched PTC (Private Translation Cloud)—our new translation system for software teams who are tired of repeating the same painful localization process with every release.

PTC came from our own frustration: translating WPML into 23 languages every cycle, explaining the same context to different human translators, and juggling spreadsheets.

We realized the problem wasn’t the translators—it was the system.

So we built something different.

PTC:

  • Integrates directly with code repositories, supports manual file uploads, or works via API
  • Translates WordPress themes and plugins, iOS applications, Android applications, SaaS platforms, and more
  • Uses advanced AI that understands context, tone, and terminology
  • Offers predictable and flat pricing

If you develop software, don’t wait. Try PTC free for 30 days.

Making WPML More Accessible for Everyone

With WPML 4.7.4, we’ve taken a big step toward meeting the standards set by the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

This update improves how WPML works for users with disabilities and lays the groundwork for even more enhancements in future versions.

Already live:

  • Improved color contrast and link visibility
  • Clearer, more consistent buttons and menus
  • Better support for assistive technologies

Next, we plan to add full keyboard accessibility, support for text resizing, and clearer form fields to make WPML accessible for everyone.

Sharper Multilingual SEO

Managing SEO across multiple languages is already tricky, so we’ve made it a little easier with the release of WPML SEO 2.2.0.

This update helps:

  • Keep translated titles and descriptions within the ideal length (no more cut-off text in search results)
  • Preserve important SEO placeholders across all languages
  • Improve how multilingual pages are indexed and displayed in sitemaps

It’s a quiet but powerful improvement for anyone focused on global growth.

A Faster, Friendlier Experience for Multilingual Stores

The goal for WooCommerce Multilingual 5.5.0 was simple: make everyday tasks easier for multilingual store owners.

We improved how prices work across currencies, made sure product reviews display correctly in translation, and added support for translating download links. We also made saving products faster, especially those with multiple variations.

Every improvement in this release is based on feedback from people who run multilingual stores.

New Maps, New Leadership for Toolset

Toolset received two important updates this quarter:

First, we added integration with OpenStreetMap, giving users a new, free alternative to Google Maps when building custom map views.

Second, we welcomed a new lead developer. With fresh energy and a strong vision, Ned Andonov is already helping shape the next chapter of Toolset.

That’s a Wrap for Q2 2025

We don’t build features just to fill changelogs. We build to solve real problems, based on what we see and hear from our community.

Whether it’s translating software, improving accessibility, or simplifying multilingual e-commerce, everything we shipped this quarter came from that focus.

We’re already working on what’s next, and we can’t wait to share more in the coming months.
