We’re on the lookout for a linguistic expert to join our engineering team and contribute to building a mass-market application in the translation industry.

Your Role: Language Expert and Troubleshooter

As a linguistic expert at OnTheGoSystems, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping our AI translation system. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing Translations: Regularly review AI-generated translations, identifying recurring issues and tracing their root causes.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Collaborate with our engineering team to build innovative translation products.
  • Quality Control: Conduct language reviews in your native languages and guide freelance translators in other languages, ensuring high-quality output across the board.
  • Collaborative Development: Engage closely with our development team, balancing linguistic accuracy with technical feasibility to create a robust and effective product.

What We’re Looking For

  • Language Proficiency: Native German language and fluent in English. Nice to have Dutch. Any additional language is a plus. 
  • Professional Experience: A background in working within a commercial environment, particularly in product development or a related field.
  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset, eager to work in tandem with developers and translators.
  • Attention To Detail: This involves checking for accuracy, consistency, and appropriateness in language use.

Our Hiring Process

You’ll have 3-4 interviews that take between 30 to 90 minutes each. You’ll be talking with our HR, the team leader and members of the team you’re interviewing for.

For some roles, we’ll also ask for an assignment. If this assignment requires significant time, we’ll pay for your time doing it.

In these interviews, we know that you’re interviewing us, like we’re interviewing you. We welcome your questions and will answer them gladly.

At OnTheGoSystems, we keep things simple and straightforward. In most cases, our interview process is made up of three parts:

1. The Chat with the Recruiter

60 mins

During this informal video call, we’ll tell you more about the job and OnTheGoSystems (OTGS), and you can ask us anything you want.

2. The Technical Deep Dive

60-90 mins

This video call has a technical focus and gives you the opportunity to speak to potential teammates and see how you can contribute to the team. You can expect detailed questions about your experience and qualifications, and you may be asked to do a live assignment, depending on the position.

3. The Check-In with the HR Manager

30 mins

During the quick video call with our HR Manager, we’ll ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding the position you’re applying for. You can ask questions and clarify any doubts you may have. We’ll also cover any administrative details necessary to extend a final offer that meets your needs and expectations.
