OTGS May News

June 2, 2021

Stability, performance, and usability of our products are super important and in May, we focused on these for both Toolset and WPML. We also continued working with partners on promoting the many new integrations and compatibility for both plugins.

Toolset News

During May, the Toolset team focused on stability and performance, completing two minor updates for the 1.5 main release last month. The new View editor in Blocks 1.5.2 works on the front-end and delivers a much faster and smoother editing experience than before.

Blocks 1.5.2 improves the performance of sites by serving images with the best size for each device.

Toolset also added integrations with the popular Blocksy, Sydney, and Page Builder Framework themes.

We also published a new, free training course about designing WordPress sites.

WPML News

We are continuing to work on making sure that WPML 4.5.0 provides the best user experience.

Another round of deep testing revealed further room for improvement when it comes to new features and their ease of use. Because of this, we are currently working on polishing the workflow and fixing other reported issues.

At the moment, our primary goal is to release the first beta of 4.5.0.

Finally, our own Documentation Manager, Dario Jazbec Hrvatin, presented a talk about translating sites at the Page Builder Summit 2.0 online conference.

Partnerships and Compatibility

Partnerships

As promised in last month’s update, May was spent strengthening partnerships with themes that work well with Toolset. Our clients now have a really strong selection of themes they can choose from, including OceanWP, Astra, Page Builder Framework, Blocksy, Sydney Pro, Total, GeneratePress and more. Each of these themes are highly recommended for Toolset-based sites and now have their theme options available when building Content Templates and WordPress Archives.

We also worked with a handful of WordPress blog partners throughout May to publish a series of guest posts to help promote Toolset as a custom design solution for WooCommerce stores. WPExplorer published a guide on creating custom WooCommerce Product Pages; Torque Mag shared our findings from a study of agencies that use Gutenberg, and Barn2 published a tutorial which guides users how to customize their WooCommerce Product Template

We were also delighted to be invited to contribute to WP Rocket’s round up of tips and best practices to help your site meet Google’s Core Web Vitals.

Over at WPML, our friends at Elegant Themes named us the number 1 WordPress translation plugin and we welcomed a handful of new compatibility partners – including Flexible Shipping

Translation partners

This month we welcomed a brand new Translation Partner from Barcelona, Spain: ESmedo.

With more than 15 years of experience in the translation industry, ESmedo joins WPML to focus on the Spanish-speaking market and provide top-notch translations. You’ll be able to find ESmedo in the Translation Services tab in WPML.

More partners are coming, so stay tuned!
