April 2023 – The Latest on Toolset Updates and Integrations

April 27, 2023

At OnTheGoSystems, we take pride in our commitment to stability, compatibility, and seamless integrations with other plugins. In the last months, we made updates and enhancements to Toolset to ensure it works seamlessly with the latest WordPress versions and other plugins.

Toolset 1.6.6: Seamless Compatibility with WordPress 6.2

Towards the end of March, we released Toolset 1.6.6 to guarantee a smooth experience with WordPress 6.2, which took the Site Editor (Full Site Editing) out of beta and introduced a host of usability improvements.

Some of the top new features and improvements in WordPress 6.2 include:

  • A reimagined Site Editor interface
  • Sticky positioned blocks
  • An improved Navigation block with list view
  • A new option to add media from OpenVerse
  • Separate Block Settings and Styles tabs

We monitored the development of WordPress 6.2 closely to make Toolset compatible with these and other latest features. To ensure no breaking changes, we introduced fixes and enhancements in Toolset Types 3.4.19 and other major Toolset plugins. In addition to these enhancements, Toolset 1.6.6 improves compatibility with PHP 8.x.

Exploring Block Patterns

A few weeks ago, we published a Toolset tutorial about using block patterns to build WordPress websites easily.

Block patterns are pre-designed layouts of blocks that can be quickly added to your pages, making it easier than ever to create beautiful, cohesive designs. This functionality offers numerous benefits for WordPress site owners, such as:

  • Faster design and development
  • Better consistency across your site
  • Ease of use

Here’s a quick glance at what you can create with block patterns:

Prior to publishing this tutorial, we worked closely with our partner BlockMeister – Block Pattern Builder Plugin to ensure optimal compatibility between Toolset and BlockMeister.

Thanks to this collaboration, building a good-looking and advanced site is easier than ever. Now, Toolset users can go above and beyond what WordPress blocks offer by using Toolset blocks and BlockMeister together to build creative, dynamic block patterns.
