Career growth doesn’t always mean becoming a manager or changing companies. Sometimes it means stepping into a completely new area, building on the skills you’ve already developed, and embracing a new challenge.
That’s exactly what Bruno Kos did.
After many years in WPML Support, Bruno began collaborating with the Systems Team as a Systems Support Specialist, where he now combines technical investigation, development, and problem-solving to help build and maintain the systems behind our products.
Bruno had considered moving into a technical role before, but for many years Support was the right fit for both his career and his personal life.
Bruno shared with us: “Over the years in Support, I built deep product knowledge, enjoyed solving complex problems, and became interested in the technical side of the company.”
This experience Bruno gained became a strong foundation for his new area of work. His curiosity, analytical thinking, and understanding of customer needs continue to help him solve problems and contribute to the Systems team now.
Joining the Systems Team meant learning a completely new environment, with numerous internal services, custom tools, and automation systems.
Bruno didn’t receive ready-made answers, but was encouraged to investigate problems, research possible solutions, and gradually build his own understanding.
What I value most is the mentoring approach. I’m rarely given the complete solution. Instead, I’m encouraged to investigate problems thoroughly and find answers through my own research. That kind of learning has been invaluable.
Modern AI tools also helped accelerate the learning process by making it easier to understand unfamiliar technologies and explore new ideas, allowing Bruno to contribute sooner while continuing to deepen his technical knowledge.
Within his first few months, Bruno was already contributing beyond day-to-day operational work.
He developed an internal application that works with EC2 data, branch creation, user management, and email automation, while continuing to support the team’s systems and infrastructure.
For Bruno, the most rewarding part has been seeing his knowledge grow with every project and taking on increasingly complex challenges.
Bruno’s goals remain focused on continuous learning.
I want to keep acquiring knowledge, develop a deep understanding of how everything works, and gradually take on more complex projects.
His journey is a great example that career growth isn’t always about changing clients or professional direction. Sometimes it’s about having the curiosity to learn something new, the support of experienced teammates, and the opportunity to develop professionally in a different technical area.
At OTGS, we value long-term professional collaboration and continuous learning . Bruno’s story shows how embracing a new challenge can open the door to an exciting new stage of a career.
